Lightning: A VR Story is a 360-degree animated film that I wrote, directed, and animated over the course of five months (and one day).

 

The film was created entirely in virtual reality on an Oculus Rift. In fact, Lightning: A VR Story is the world's first narrative animated film created entirely IN virtual reality FOR virtual reality.

 

The characters, props, and major set pieces were sculpted in Adobe Medium, and the characters were rigged and animated in Tvori. Tvori was also used for lighting and virtual photography.

 

Lightning: A VR Story is an example of what a single person can accomplish using the powerful tool of virtual reality.

 

LOGLINE

 

To save his friend from the dangers of the forest, a little firefly named LIGHTNING must find the courage to turn his light back on.
